In the Fall of 2008, at Western Washington University, there was a small Super Smash Bros. Brawl tournament held in one of the student dorms. Vivian met Teddy there and would later become classmates the following quarter.

The Wedding Theme
Q: Does your wedding have a theme?
A: Yes, our wedding's theme is based off of the popular 2001 game, Super Smash Bros. Melee. It is a fighter game in which many of Nintendo's characters face off in different stages from its popular franchises. Teddy (Bladewise) competes often in Smash tournaments so we felt that the theme would be very appropriate. :)

On Guests

Q: If I plan on joining the tournament does that mean I'm invited to the wedding?
A: No, you must have received an invitation and be on the guest list in order to attend the ceremony and the reception.

Q: Are children allowed to attend?
A: Yes but please be sure to RSVP via evite/e-mail us to ensure that we are able to provide for everyone that attends the ceremony and reception.
Q: Can I bring a date?
A: Due to financial constraints we wish that you ask either Teddy or Vivian prior to inviting a date that was not listed on the guest list. We want to ensure that we are able to provide for everyone that attends the ceremony and reception.

Q: Is there a dress code?
A: For the tournament, it is highly encouraged to dress in formal wear. For the ceremony and reception, we would recommend semi-formal attire. For more on this definition, you can visit this link.
